Breeze Partners with Principal Financial Group® to Expand Online Disability Insurance Platform – InsuranceNewsNet

OMAHA, Neb., June 08, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Brokenthe OmahaA New York-based insurtech company that simplifies the distribution of disability and critical illness insurance, today announced the addition of the individual disability insurance product of Main financial group® to their wallet.

This new integration, based on Breeze’s proprietary API, allows insurance distributors to easily integrate the product into their own native digital platforms and reduce submission and request time to less than 15 minutes.

“We are excited about this partnership with Principal as it aligns with our mission to be a comprehensive provider of digital disability insurance products across a wide range of occupations and income levels,” Colin Nabity, CEO and co-founder of Breeze, said. “This move allows us to better serve current and future Breeze channel partners who want to grow their income protection sales through a seamless online experience.”

From quote to registration, Principal® individual disability insurance is fully integrated into Breeze’s streamlined platform; Breeze’s partner insurance distributors and independent agents can offer primary disability insurance to their customers directly through Breeze’s agent portal or through Breeze’s proprietary API. The product is also available on Breeze’s direct-to-consumer platform.

Breeze’s proprietary technology makes it possible to get a disability insurance quote in seconds and apply online in minutes without having to cut through the paperwork associated with traditional disability insurance sales.

“Principal is focused on providing the best experience for its customers, and this partnership allows us to create a seamless and fully digital journey,” said Sean McCartney, Vice President of Specialty Benefits Sales and Account Management at Principal. “Principal is committed to providing unique technology-driven solutions that simplify the benefits experience. Integrating our Individual Disability Insurance product into Breeze’s proprietary API improves overall access and experience for customers and distributors.”

The principal has a AM Best Company rating of A+, the second highest of 13 rating levels in the March 2022. Principal offers many perk designs, with a variety of percentages, maximums, perk durations, own employment, and elimination periods.

According LIMRAonly 14% of Americans had disability insurance in 2021 despite US Social Security Administration stating that 25% of Americans will experience a disability during their career before retirement. A confusing application and underwriting process for buyers and sellers contributed to this income protection gap.

Since launching in 2019, Breeze has been on a mission to close the income protection gap by simplifying and digitizing the disability insurance application process for consumers and insurance distributors. The addition of the Principal individual disability insurance product to the Breeze platform is an important step towards realizing the Omahainsurtech mission.
